Summary -
PJ plans for himself and Maggie to have a nice weekend away only as friends, but Maggie's already committed herself to a Murder Mystery Weekend at the Imperial for charity.
She eventually convinces PJ to join in too a little unwillingly at first, but he becomes more interested when he discovers he'll be playing Maggie's new husband on their honeymoon and they have to stay in character ALL weekend as he points out to Maggie.

When they arrive at the Imperial they discover they're in for some fun. Included in the party are the Lyndham's who are planning to build on the old wetlands area, and Harry Carmichael who is bitterly against the idea.

The weekend begins, and PJ is less than impressed that he has to dress up, and is continually told to refer to his book.
He can't help however, to shake a feeling that Michael Scott, the man in charge of the game is somehow familiar to him.

Rowena was pushed down the stairs part way through the game, but the weekend continued.
The next morning Rowena received a phone call, telling her the bull dozer was stolen which would delay the progress.
Harry Carmichael was immediately suspected, but he swore it wasn't him. It turned out it was actually Steven Lyndham, Rowena's husband because he disagreed with clearing the area and wanted to stop her.

At the same time, a middle aged man had been staying at the Imperial and charming Chris, until he pulled a knife on her and demanded to know where the money was.
He was an acquaintance of Terry's (Chris's ex-husband) and apparently Terry had told him there was money hidden in the cellar. He had been the one who'd pushed Rowena down the stairs in the cellar because he'd been trying to find the money.

He was arrested, and as the game drew to a close, when Rowena gave up being the detective due to constant criticism from Harry Carmichael PJ took the job and solved the case easily. It turned out it was Maggie's character who'd been the murderer.

PJ had been right he did recognise Michael Scott, he'd been under a different name when PJ'd known him. PJ had been with the gaming squad at the time, and when Michael who'd been dealing with them pulled out, PJ'd copped the blame and been sent off to Mt Thomas.
Now however, Michael's daughter Lenore was really sick and he was tired of running so he told PJ he'd make a statement which would finally clear PJ's name for good. PJ then paid for Michael's bail, and Michael told him he wouldn't let him down.

Quotes -
"I hope you intend to pay for that." (in a Dracula voice)
"Hello, what are you doing down here?"
"Oh, secret vice you know" (points to a bottle of whiskey).
"You couldn't sleep either huh?"
"Nope. Strange bed, strange noises, bit lonely."
"Don't start!"
PJ sits down next to her, "Can I ask you a question?"
"Well its late so you can ask me just one."
"Are you 100% sure of the decision you made?"
"Only fools are 100% sure of anything. Cheers."
"Does that mean you have changed your mind."
"It means that I'm not sure"
"Doyle this is crazy."
"I know."
"Hang on, you know how I feel about you?"
"Its a good thing I do cause I would be waiting around forever for you to tell me again."
"Well do you want me to tell you again?"
"No I don't because it will just make things more difficult."
"Difficult? Difficult is trying to keep my hands off you."
"Oh well tell me about it!! I thought we could go back to the way we were but damn it I was wrong. It just doesn't work like that does it?"
"No, well who knows, maybe we can recreate the passion that we had in the mine shaft."
Maggie laughs and they move in to kiss, and their lips just touch when there's a scream in the background.
"What was that?"
"Timing!"
