Set: After Gold, Before Possession and Nick and Zoe are engaged, it’s their wedding day!!

Maggie let a few tears slip down her cheek.

Suddenly she turned her car around and drove back to the hospital.

As she arrived, Maggie tried to stay out of sight. She didn’t want Zoe to see her and send her home, knowingthat she hadn’t made it home. As Maggie turned the last corner before PJ’s room, Zoe came up behind her.

Zoe: I thought I told you to go home.

Maggie: Oh my God, Zoe, you scared the hell out of me. Yes, I was on the way home but I had to come back and tell PJ something. Do you think he’ll hear me?

Zoe: Yes, even though he’s in a coma, he’ll hear you loud and clear. It may seem to him like a dream though.

Maggie: Thanks Zoe

Maggie entered PJ’s room and sat down on the bed where he was laying

Maggie (whispers to PJ): PJ, I don’t know if you can hear me or not, but I was here waiting for you to wake up and Zoe told me to go home, so as I was driving home, I heard a song being played on the radio. As I was listening to the words I couldn’t help but think of you. Maybe it’s a sign PJ, I know I don’t really believe in signs but maybe God had this all planned, maybe, just maybe you were supposed to be shot, maybe I was supposed to hear that song, but PJ I just had to tell you that I can’t imagine living life without you. We’ve been through so much together and if you leave me now, I don’t know what I’d do. You filled that hole that I had in my life before I met you. And I know what I said about us not being able to have a relationship but I can’t live without you PJ, we could make it work some how. I know we could. I love you PJ, I love you.

Maggie wiped away the tears that were now streaming down her face and got up off the bed. She headed towards the door but asshe stood in the doorway, Maggie looked around at PJ, just to see him looking so peaceful in that coma, but as she turned Maggie noticed his eyes starting to flicker open.

PJ: Mags

His voice was weak and just loud enough for Maggie to hear him

Maggie: I’m right here PJ, I’ll just get the doctor

PJ: Thanks Mags

Maggie ran out of the room and bumped into Zoe down the corridor

Zoe: What’s wrong Maggie

Maggie: He’s awake Zoe, he’s awake

Maggie had more tears streaming down her face, this time they were tears of happiness. She had more hope than ever now that PJ may survive.

Zoe (to PJ): Welcome back to the land of the living

Maggie left while Zoe checked PJ. She rang the station to tell them he was awake and will survive. While Maggie was talking to Tom, he said they thought they had the person who shot him. It was a Mr James Patterson. PJ and Maggie had put him away for murder a couple of years ago. He had escaped from jail. Maggie went back to PJ’s room to tell him the good news but found him fast asleep. Maggie found a note by his bed. It read

Maggie went home that night knowing her future with PJ would be happy. She fell asleep that night with happy dreams of her and PJ together, finally.

Maggie was only able to visit PJ before and after work, but she offered to get the lunches for the few days PJ was in hospital so Maggie could visit him.

Maggie took PJ home three days later but took the next week off to look after him, as Zoe had instructed someone to look after him. Maggie happily offered. They decided to keep their relationship a secret for the time being. They would tell the others when they were ready.
